Do I need to create or purchase a Zoom account to join Yoga class?

No, a Zoom account is not required. You can join a YegtownYoga class as a participant without creating a Zoom account.

How do I join a Zoom meeting?

You can join a meeting by clicking the meeting link sent to your email address. It is important to click on the meeting link on the device you will be using to join class. When you join your first zoom class the installer file will download automatically onto your device. Simply let it walk you through the installation process. You do NOT need to create a Zoom account. When prompted, simply go ahead and sign in with the email you used to register for the session. You may want to begin this process 10-15 minutes before class time the first time you join a zoom meeting.

How do I join with audio and video on computer, tablet or smartphone?

Once you are in, Zoom will first ask you to choose a computer/device audio option. Depending on your device, you can join computer/device audio by clicking either Join Audio, Join with Computer Audio, or Audio to access the audio settings. Simply click on the Audio button you are presented. Then, click your video camera on; there is initially a red line struck through the camera icon (bottom left corner).

Do I have to have a webcam to join Yoga classes via Zoom?

While you are not required to have a webcam to join Yoga classes, it will limit interaction if you don’t have one. Paige will not be able to see your posture, alignment or movements without a webcam. You will however still be able to listen and speak during class, share your screen, and view the webcam video of the speaker.

New to Zoom and want to get familiar with how things will look and feel before classes start?

Though not necessary in order to join a meeting as a participant, you can sign up for a free Zoom account at zoom.us/signup. After downloading Zoom, you can join a test zoom meeting and test your microphone and speakers. You can click to Mute and Unmute your voice from being heard by the other participants. You have your own participant button to click to change your name. You can even change your background settings with a custom photo or preset background.
